The Great Illusion of Modern Science
We find ourselves alive, breathing, and experiencing a vast universe. Yet, mainstream modern science has backed itself into a logical corner trying to explain how this all began.
In popular physics, a dangerous assertion has taken root. Celebrated scientists claim that the cosmos magically emerged from a literal void.
For instance, Lawrence Krauss claims this exact premise in his book, A Universe from Nothing. He argues that quantum fluctuations in a vacuum can spontaneously generate a universe.
But as a mathematical scientist, I must tell you the truth: this assertion is logically impossible.
The Logical Failure of “Absolute Nothing”
To understand why modern cosmology is failing us, we must look at the strict definitions of logic and mathematics.
By definition, non-existence—or true “nothing”—possesses no properties. It has no spatial dimensions, no temporal duration, no physical laws, and no causal mechanisms.
If a state has zero properties, it lacks the capability to act. It cannot fluctuate, it cannot mutate, and it cannot trigger an effect.
Simply put, something cannot originate from nothing.
When physicists say the universe came from “nothing,” they are actually describing a highly complex quantum vacuum. A vacuum is not nothing. It is a field governed by mathematical laws and physical infrastructure.
Therefore, claiming the universe came from nothing is a linguistic trick, not a scientific explanation.
Why This Matters For Your Existence
You might ask why this academic debate matters to your everyday life. The answer is deeply profound.
Most people live under a secular illusion. They believe they were a blank slate of non-existence prior to conception, and that they will dissolve back into absolute nothingness at death.
But if true nothingness cannot exist and cannot cause an effect, then your consciousness could not have emerged from a void.
